Okay, now that I was able to load the picture and get a look at it up close and personal, its not really that great of a picture. . . . kinda blurry . . . hmm . . . I must get my eyes checked (yet again.)

An Early Start
She has been telling Bob she needs a new knitting machine. He, of course, thinks she doesn't. (The one she has "got broke.") However, over the last few weeks he has apparently "come around to her thinking" and said she could buy it "for her Christmas." Lola found the exact machine while we were at JoAnn's AND . . . . it was $40 cheaper than the price of the same thing she found online.
I told her I occasionally received 40% off coupons and the next time I got one, I would give it to her so she could save even more. This is one happy knittin' lady!
Once our business was finished at the doctor's office, we headed back home to pick up Bob so we could go get haircuts. We got to the house (Lola waited in the car while I went to get Bob), and Bob was still as we had left him 3 hours earlier!!! (In his long johns and a shirt.) It didn't take him too long to get his pants on and comb his hair and we were off to get haircuts. Bob told the stylist he was 86 years old and didn't want to look like those long hair young kids. . . . so this is what he got . . . . .
I took a great picture of the both of them, but for some reason cannot get it to load on this @#*&*$@# thing. I want to get this published so will post the picture later when they (whoever the hell "they" are) decide to let me do it (as it can't possibly be my problem, can it?!)

Pumpkin Patch
Randy, Debi, Hailey & Ryan picked Bob & Lola up this afternoon for a trip to the Rossi Farms Pumpkin Patch. What a beautiful day for the trip!
Between Bob and Randy there were a ton of pictures taken! Thank you Randy! Just viewing the pictures makes it seem like we were all there with you! (I wish I would have been - looks like great fun!)

For those of you who are not familiar with Rossi Farms, you will notice they also have produce and other goodies for sale!
Look at those peppers!!!

The pumpkin patch AND a stop at Arby's for lunch . . . a great afternoon!

A Jokester
Brad thought he was pretty funny when he brought Bob & Lola a "baseball in the window" sticker. I'm sure Bob was supposed to put it on the window and then tell Rj that it happened again . . . which he did do. He couldn't keep up the joke, though and less than 5 seconds later told Rj that Brad bought it for him. Pretty funny, Bradley!!!
Heather, Delaney and Mac picked Bob and Lola up and took them to Bi-Mart and The Dollar Store in Damascus today. Bob told me they bought a bunch of junk. When he called he also told me he sent me some pictures and he remembered his camera, and his cell phone and his house keys when they went shopping! I asked him if he remembered his billfold to which he replied, "No . . . I didn't . . . . it sure helps your bank balance when you forget your billfold!" Heather also brought them these beautiful flowers.

Loo's Day

Today Loo had an appointment with Nancy at Petable Pet. Nancy had her granddaughter "helping" her today. Her name was Nyssa.

We dropped Loo and went to Target to pick up a few things I needed, then we took Lola to her physical therapy appointment. Bob and I went back to pick up Loo - from there I took the two of them home and then went back to pick up Lola. Everyone was back home by 12:00 . . . a busy morning! I neglected to get an "after" picture of Loo. He looked great!

Let the Sun Shine In

Jeff and Jen were at Bob & Lola's on Saturday. Jeff brought and installed the new skylight he ordered for their house. Bob took this picture (standing in the middle of the street.) It looks like Jeff is posing for the picture . . . . the reality is that Jeff is telling Bob there are cars coming so he needs to get out of the street. Bob doesn't hear him and continues to set up his shot . . . while Jeff continues to say "Bob, there are cars coming!" Apparently, Bob finally saw the cars and greeted the one car with "How ya doin'?" Bob took several pictures (yay, Bob!) but for some reason this was the only one I could successfully save to my computer. I'll keep trying and post the additional pictures (when/if I figure out how to save them.)

Another Doctor Day
While I took Lola to her physical therapy appointment bright and early this morning, Robert took Bob to his appointment at the V.A. Lola's appointment took an hour and we scheduled 4 more (once a week) for the next month. We hadn't heard from Rj and Bob, so we went to Costco to pick up pictures and get some office supplies and then to the post office to pick up mail. I didn't call Rj because I wasn't sure exactly what all Bob's appointment involved. By 11:00 we were headed home when Robert finally called. He had already dropped Bob at home at 9:50!!! You would think the man would know by now to check in - - especially when he knew we were wondering what was going on!!!! Bob told me he wanted to call us, but Rj told him not to because Lola was in physical therapy. Oh brother . . . first of all, they wouldn't work an 85 year old woman for longer than an hour AND Lola was the only one having physical therapy . . . I was waiting for her and I had the phone!!!!!! Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that brain of his.
Apparently, Bob got his nose looked at (camera phone picture courtesty of Robert) and cleaned out with a needle looking thing that - - according to Robert - - "had to have been "a foot long" AND according to Bob . . . . "hurt like heck." The doctor didn't find anything but prescribed some different medications (nose spray and saline solution) and told Bob he would schedule him for a CAT scan in the near future. All doctor visits are done for this week!

Out and About

When we're at Target, we lose track of Bob (he always goes off in a separate direction) I finally called him on his cell phone. (This was the first time we tested this concept.) He actually heard it and answered!!! He told me he was in the very back of the store looking for us and then he proceeds to tell me he was so proud that he remembered his camera and his house keys, but he forgot his billfold!
Our next stop was Arby's for lunch. Bob enjoyed his roast beef sandwich with curly fries and Lola had a chicken sandwich.
At lunch, we (Lola and I) decided to make a stop at Michaels just to have a "lok see." We told Bob he had no choice but to tag along (this is not his favorite store.)
I then decided we should stop by Dairy Queen on the way home (as a treat for Bob since he suffered through the stop at Michaels.) Lola and I had small cones (hers a chocolate and vanilla swirl) and Bob enjoyed a pineapple milkshake (his absolute favorite.) Even though it was 89+ degrees outside, we were not expecting to see this . . . . .

While Lola is laughing, Bob and I are attempting to take pictures (he from the back seat and me while driving - having handed off my cone to Lola to hold.) Once we turned off Sunnyside Road, all Bob had to say was "It sure is an education." (I assumed he meant living in the big city.)

We arrived back home and Bob finished his milkshake . . . "you sure get your money's worth."

Rj showed up a few minutes after we got home. (He felt left out when he found out we went to Dairy Queen without him.) He says to Bob, "come on" and they leave. It amazes me that Bob just blindly goes whenever Rj tells him to "come on." He never knows where they're going, how long they're going to be gone or how far they're going for that matter. He just goes. They took Bob's car to get the tank filled and to get it washed. (They were still running on the same $10 Bob put in the car before they left Baker in June. Bob called to "check in" when they were gone. He told me they were getting "the works" at the car wash and he didn't know where they were going from there, but he'd "check back" with us. I took this picture when they finally showed back up at the house.

Whey they got home, Bob tells Lola they filled the tank and he doesn't remember if he ever filled the tank before. He figures that tank will probably last them a couple years - - given the amount they drive.

Oops . . .
This "innocent" looking softball caused . . . .
this damage to the front window in Bob and Lola's house. They're not sure exactly when it happened. Bob didn't notice anything when he put the garbage cans away on Thursday (it was garbage day.) Lola noticed the mess . . . .
when she went into the extra bedroom to get something. There was glass everywhere! This tall dresser was on the opposite wall of the bedroom. (The bedroom isn't very big, but it still amazed me that the glass was absolutely everywhere.) Neither one of them heard anything! My niece, Mollie, and I were out and about on Thursday when we got a call from Robert telling us to go by Bob and Lola's to check out the situation. This is Mollie helping me clean up the mess. We measured the window (three different times - - just to make sure - - while Bob was standing there telling us he thought we measured it wrong) so Robert could buy a new window. He put the new one in later that afternoon. I wasn't there . . . and I keep forgetting to ask Bob if he took a picture of Robert installing the new one.
The park manager is investigating . . . she says when something like this happens, the kids talk amongst themselves and the person responsible is eventually idenitified.

Gotta Feed Loo
Loo was getting low on dog food (about 3lbs left in the can) so Bob and I went to Clackamas Feed and Pet Supply to stock up (literally.) Even before Bob and Lola moved to Clackamas, Bob had been doing a little surfin' on line to check out where in town he could buy the same dog food Loo had been eating in Baker City. He found this place and asked me how close it was. He was surprised to learn it was just down the road - not even a 5 minute trip!
We made the (short) trip this morning because it was Tuesday which is also Senior Discount Day at Clackamas Feed. Bob was excited because he bought a 40lb bag of Loo's dog food for less than $20.00! (He paid $10 for 10 pounds in Baker.) As were were leaving the store, Bob told them he'd see them again in January (apparently 40 pounds of Loo's food lasts quite a long time!)

VERY Early Morning Activity
Poor Pat. I am sooooo sorry. Rj and I are at the beach and Lola has an "episode". She says everything was fine, they were just watching TV and her heart took off. It was skipping a beat. She waited a couple hours, took her medication and went to bed. . . . where the irregular heartbeat continued, quite loudly in her ears. It was decided at that point, they should get her checked out. They knew we were out of town so they called Pat. He was in town (he's usually out of the country!) Pat picked them up and took them to Providence Milwaukie Hospital. There, Lola was checked out (they ran a bunch of tests). While they were waiting for test results, Bob snapped a few photos on his cell phone (LOVE that man!!!) and sent one to my sell phone (at 1:23 am). I woke up to my phone beeping . . . got the picture with no message attached. Robert wakes up and tries to decide if he (Bob) was just not sleeping and messing around with his cell phone and accidentally sent a picture. (?!?!?) (Apparently, my husband doesn't process thoughts --or pictures-- very well in the middle of the night.) As I'm telling him, "This is a picture of Pat in a hospital room and it appears he is NOT the patient", I send Bob a text message. . . ."call me". In the meantime Robert is telling me he (Bob) won't be able to figure it out. Bob does and calls me. (Unbeknownst to Rj, last weekend Bob and I got the "chatting" with text messages down pretty good - - - when he sent me a picture of Lola sleeping (snoring) sitting up in his recliner!) They got test results (all came back fine) and told Lola sometimes that happens but she could go home. As of this morning, she still has the irregular heartbeat but was told not to worry about it unless she developed some pain along with it because her heart checked out fine. She tells me this morning she's fine, has no pain - - didn't have any pain last night. She will need to see her doctor this week for a follow-up. Earlier today Bob called me and told me he took several pictures (which Lola let me know did not make her happy) but he "evidentally" lost them somewhere. . . . . . (bummer - but good job, Bob - I am sooooo proud of you!!) A big shout out THANKS SO MUCH to Pat for coming to the rescue. We owe you, Buddy!!
Holy Mole-y!
Bob and Lola have a mole (or moles). When we bought the house, the yard was in a total state of disrepair. It didn't take too long to get it into shape (with the help of a landscape makeover by Nick - and then the weekly maintenance.) However, the nicer the grass started looking (all pretty green and no weeds) and the softer the ground got, the mole(s) moved in. One of the owners of Proscape (LOVE those guys - they do a fabulous job - I highly recommend them) called me this week to inquire about the mole(s). He actually wanted to know if I wanted him to come out and "show" me or my husband what to do OR have him take care of the problem. Yeah, right. Like he (the husband) would even put that item on his "priority list." So, Mike (from Proscape) came out on Wednesday to set a few traps . . . . with the hope that come Friday (lawn mowing day), they'd haul the little sucker away. Apparently, there was no such luck this Friday. There is another mole hole in the back yard and the sneaky little thing might have moved back there. Mike was trying to get it out front because he didn't want to inconvenience Loo. Hopefully, this week . . . we trap the little bugger! (Bob is - of course - waiting to take pictures if it does happen!)
